March 2021 Recap

March 2021 Recap

March was an incredibly busy month with two main focuses: National Conference and new members! We had a lot of activity on both fronts. Here are the highlights:

Record New Memberships!

March 2021 welcomed 701 new members, which is a one-month record of new registrations! We hosted 286 events with 2,656 attendees, and we were happy to meet a lot of new people. When asked why our new members felt that March 2021 was the time to seek training about firearms, overwhelmingly the answers were (1) just learned about training opportunities, (2) urged by family member/friend to join AG & AG, and (3) concerns of upcoming legislation or bans. Nearly 70% of our new members are between 45-65 years old. Only 42% of these new members were raised with a firearm in the home, and 58% are brand new to our gun community.

National Conference — Only 3 Weeks Away!

The 9th Annual A Girl & A Gun National Conference Presented by GLOCK is coming up soon! Throughout March, the 450 participants finalized their training schedules. Classes range from pistols, rifles, shotguns, competition, defense, sporting clays, precision rifle, force-on-force scenarios, tactical medicine, gunsmithing, legal topics, mindset, and more! Our 41 nationally respected instructors and 37 volunteers are eagerly awaiting for the fun to start at Cameo Shooting and Education Complex near Grand Junction, CO. The following sponsors will also be on site: GLOCK, CZ-USA, Walther, Ruger, XS Sights, HK, Mossberg, Primary Arms, Stag Arms, Hunters Gold, US Law Shield, USCCA, GTM, Liz Lazarus, LouKa Tactical, Ear Pro, SSP Eyewear, OakenPyne Soap, Slip 2000, High Speed Gear/Comp-Tac, Everest, and others. It’s the Event of the Year!

#SundayVibes Gives Big Social Boost

Since the start of our #SundayVibes series in January, our social engagement has been on a steady climb with fantastic numbers in March 2021. Page Views were up 23% and Post Reach was up 22%. This month our Page Followers bumped another 20%, too! Our Facebook Page Engagement at the end of March was higher than NRA Women’s page, which as 3x as many fans. Our strategic initiatives for next quarter will continue to expand on social engagement. We love giving our followers a reason to smile, and a reason to keep interacting with our announcements and sponsor spotlights.

AG & AG Chapter Hosts 1st ASI Match

The AG & AG chapter in Alvin, TX, hosted its first Action Shooting International (ASI) match at Big Kountry Range on March 11, 2021. AG & AG Facilitator, Kathlynn Joel-Reich hosted the first ASI match with a Squad of 7, who included some very seasoned shooters, who also helped, mentored the newbies, and performed as Range Officers. ASI is a great sport for those new to competition, in addition to being fun, family-friendly, and a great way to hone shooting skills. More AG & AG chapters are scheduled to host ASI matches in the near future.

Another Member Appreciation Giveaway!

On the last day of March, we were able to give away 5 prizes to members of AG & AG — just for being members! Our quarterly Member Appreciation Giveaway awarded 2 Charter Arms .38 Spl Undercovers, a GTM concealed carry bag, a Console Vault in-vehicle safe, and a set of AG & AG range gear! Thank you to all of our sponsors for supporting this program, and thank you to all of our members for being members!
