April 2024 Recap

April 2024 was another exciting month in AG & AG Nation! We welcomed new members (up 27.8% since last April!), trained on a variety of platforms, launched new initiatives, and of course, hosted our biggest National Conference to date — with over 700 students! Here are some of the highlights!

706 Women SHINE at AG & AG Conference

A Girl & A Gun (AG & AG) hosted its 12th Annual National Conference of 706 female firearms enthusiasts, who gathered for several days of training, camaraderie, and fun. The event, SHINE 2024, was presented by GLOCK at Cameo Shooting and Education Complex near Grand Junction, CO. The annual event sold out last September and had more than 500 women on the waiting list.

March 2024 Recap

March 2024 was full of training, camaraderie, and growth! Memberships were up 25% over last March! Our DRIFT Academy was off the charts and more than 2,300 ladies in our local chapters had a ton of fun! Here are some of the March 2024 highlights.

January 2024 Recap

January marked a great start to our 13th year! We set an all-time one-month record with 722 membership packets mailed from HQ! Memberships in January were up 20% over last year and we had a 7% increase in events! We were able to see some friends at SHOT Show and at a lot of meetings throughout the month. Ashley Krenek Wins 1st Place Overall in the 4Q 2023 AG & AG Quarterly Match

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) proudly announces the winners of the 2023 4th Quarter League Match. A total of 131 members from 35 chapters across the United States submitted scores. Congratulations to Ashley Krenek, from the South Houston, TX chapter, for earning 1st Place Overall.

December 2023 Recap

Holy smokes! What an incredible way to close out 2023! Membership rates were up 35% over the previous December! More students, more events, and more excitement! Here are the highlights for December 2023!

November 2023 Recap

November was jam-packed! Attendance was up 122% over last year – we trained over 5,000 women! A Girl & A Gun was 30% bigger in November 2023 with new chapters, new host ranges, new training programs — and we expressed gratitude and #gaveback to our communities. Officers Attend 7th Annual ‘Back the Women in Blue’ Event Presented by GLOCK

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) hosted 19 female law enforcement officers for the 7th Annual ‘Back the Women in Blue’ presented by GLOCK, with ammunition sponsored by Federal Premium. The event took place October 25-27, 2023, at the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center. Participants were female commissioned officers, each nominated by someone in her community, from nine states, including eleven county agencies and nine municipalities or university departments.

Southeast MI Facilitator Is Top Shot in 3Q 2023 Match

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) proudly announces the winners of the 2023 3rd Quarter League Match. A total of 156 members from 41 chapters across the United States submitted scores! Southeast Michigan Chapter Facilitator Audree Danielson earned Top Shot this quarter.

83 Competitors Gather in Missouri for 8th Annual Fall Fest

More than 80 women traveled to Missouri from 19 different states to participate in shooting clinics, stage walkthroughs, social activities, and ultimately 2 fantastic matches. The Team Pistol Challenge and Multigun Challenge took place at the beautiful Lucas Cattle Co. range with 80 female competitors tackling 14 stages over 3 days. A Girl & A Gun (AG & AG) is proud to announce the results of the 2023 Fall Festival, which included the only all-ladies 3-gun match in the nation.

September 2023 Recap

A Girl & A Gun shattered more records in September 2023! Our National Conference sold out in 22 hours with 700 students, we participated in several industry events, and we #gaveback to one of our league charities. Here are our highlights for September.

August 2023 Recap

August was on fire! The scorching temps didn’t keep our girls from training or competing between their family vacations and back-to-school activities: We trained 1,900+ women in the month of August! We hosted 350 events and membership was up 16% compared to last year! Our members celebrated National Shooting Sports Month with enthusiasm! Here are some of our highlights.

July 2023 Recap

Summer time and livin’ is busy! Despite the record heat indexes around the country, our chapters are having a lot of summer fun at the range! We trained more than 1,800 women in July and welcomed 539 new card-carrying members. Here are more of our July 2023 highlights!

2Q 2023 Match Sets New Record

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) proudly announces the winners of the 2023 2nd Quarter League Match. This quarter boasted a record number of chapters and number of participants: 210 members from 47 chapters across the U.S. submitted scores. Congratulations to Toni Miller, the chapter facilitator of the Cincinnati, OH chapter for earning 1st Place Overall. Congratulations also goes out to Ashley Krenek of the South Houston, TX chapter for earning All Star Winner status.

June 2023 Recap

June 2023 was jam-packed with adventure and excitement! We hosted our inaugural DRIFT Academy, which was amazing and has everyone eager for information about the next one (hint: there will be 2 in 2024)! Attendance at our chapter events nationwide grew 19% with 1,877 women turning to AG & AG for training this month. Our member engagement continued to increase, and our chapters have been having a lot of summer fun at the range.

AG & AG DRIFT Academy: Firepower, Horsepower, and Everything in Between

A caravan of white Ford Crown Vics sped around a racetrack, deploying evasive techniques, PIT maneuvers, and off-road recoveries. The drivers inside were not law enforcement, executive protection, or military operators: they were suburban moms and grandmas, who wanted to master defensive skills to keep themselves and their families safe.

A Girl & A Gun’s DRIFT (Dynamic Real-world Immersive Firearms Training) Academy took place on June 6 – 8, 2023 at the Virginia International Raceway​. It was the first training course of its kind that addressed all aspects of vehicle defense for women.

Giving Back: The Cooper Trooper Foundation

As you know, the motto of A Girl & A Gun is “It’s More Than Shooting.” Though our national Giving Back program, we support several causes important to our community. One of those causes is pediatric brain cancer, and so as a league we observe Brain Cancer awareness month in May.

Best Handguns and Gear for Women in 2023

If you want to know the best handguns and gear for women, look to see what women are choosing to train with and carry. Recently A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) hosted its 11th Annual National Conference, AMPLIFY 2023. Participants included 600 members representing 123 AG & AG chapters from 40 different states. The women were able to choose from among 400 training classes run by 102 of the nation’s top firearms educators. Training classes ran over 3 days, with an additional 2 days of lectures and leadership development. Here are the most popular handguns brought by women who attended the Conference.

Frisco, TX, Chapter Member, Sheree McCabe, Takes 1st Place in the 4Q 2022 Quarterly Match

AG & AG proudly announces the winners of the 2022 4th Quarter League Match. Participants from 33 chapters across the United States submitted scores. Congratulations to Sheree McCabe, a member of the Frisco, TX chapter for earning 1st Place Overall. Congratulations also go out to Ashley Krenek, a member of the South Houston, TX chapter for earning All Star Winner status. Members that win 1st Place Overall for a 2nd time in the next 4 matches they participate in become All Star Winners. Ashley also earned a 1st Place division win in Centerfire Optics. Other 1st Place division winners are Margaret Gable of League City, TX in the Centerfire Irons division, Sandra Polega of Portage, MI in the Rimfire Irons division and Wendy Deane of Osseo, MN in the Rimfire Optics division. Big congratulations go out to all the winners!
