Setting the Standard for Women in Firearms | Training. Insights. Intelligence.
The GLOCK Getaway is one of those signature A Girl & A Gun experiences that takes firearms training far beyond the range. Made possible because of our valued partnership with GLOCK, this event combines extraordinary access, technical knowledge, and world-class training into three unforgettable days! Step inside GLOCK Inc. for a behind-the-scenes factory tour, spend time in the warranty department where armorers diagnose real-world issues, and earn your GLOCK Armorer Certification at GLOCK Professional. Then head to the range with GLOCK instructors and Team GLOCK to put that knowledge to work and run the platform the way it was designed to run! It is the kind of access, training, and experience that makes the GLOCK Getaway truly legendary.
The A Girl & A Gun Exclusive GLOCK Getaway begins with an experience most GLOCK owners never get: a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the GLOCK Inc. factory in Smyrna GA. This is where the pistols trusted by professionals around the world are built, and our group will step inside to see the operation up close. You will visit the warranty department where GLOCK armorers diagnose and repair pistols sent in from across the country. Watching the kinds of issues that show up on their benches is eye-opening and gives you a deeper understanding of how these pistols hold up under real-world use.
After the tour, you will head to GLOCK Professional for a catered lunch before beginning the GLOCK Armorer’s Course. This course is a practical gateway into firearm maintenance and the mechanical side of the platform. Participants learn how to properly field strip, detail strip, inspect, and reassemble the pistol while identifying every internal component and understanding its role in the Safe Action system. The instruction focuses on how the pistol actually works, how to diagnose common issues, and how to maintain the platform so it runs reliably. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and hands-on experience to confidently maintain, service, and upgrade your own pistols. For many shooters, it is their first opportunity to go beyond routine cleaning and truly understand the mechanics of the pistol they shoot.
Day 2 completes the course and includes another catered lunch before you head to the range with GLOCK Professional instructors and put your pistol to work. Day 3 brings even more range time, and members of Team GLOCK will join in to share competitive tips and strategies with participants.
The Getaway wraps up with a GLOCK Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) stage where participants compete for Top Shot. After the armorer training and days on the range, you understand how your pistol works, how it runs, and how to run it well. The stage becomes the moment where everything comes together: the marksmanship, the gun handling, and the familiarity with the platform. When the timer sounds, it shows!
Your $699 registration includes an extraordinary amount of training and access:
Participants are responsible for transportation, lodging, and dinners.
This Getaway is designed for experienced AG & AG members in the Green and Orange Color Tracks who are comfortable safely drawing and operating their firearm from the holster. Because the live-fire training builds upon existing skills, participants should arrive ready to train rather than learning basic firearm operation. (Not sure of your Color Track? Consult with your Chapter Facilitator.) Not a member yet? Join today!
It is a women’s event open to individuals whose sex was assigned female at birth. Participants must be able to legally possess and safely handle a firearm, subject to age requirements and the policies of the organization and venue, and must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Participants should be prepared for extended periods of standing on concrete, walking through a large facility, and normal movement associated with live-fire range training. Please consider the physical demands of several full days of classroom, factory, and range activities when determining whether this event is appropriate for you.
No, the GLOCK Getaway is an intermediate-to-advanced training experience, not an introductory shooting course. Participants must arrive with established firearm safety, gun-handling, and holster-draw skills. Basic marksmanship concepts may be addressed during training, but instructors will build upon existing skills rather than teach foundational firearm operation.
Participants must be in the Green or Orange Color Tracks. Meet with your Chapter Facilitator to confirm your holster proficiency.
No, and that’s part of what makes this Getaway so special! The entire experience is built around the GLOCK platform, from the factory floor and armorer’s bench to live-fire training with GLOCK instructors and Team GLOCK. You’ll spend several days immersed in the platform, learning how it is built, how it functions, how to maintain it, and how to run it on the range.
Participants should bring a GLOCK pistol to the event. This is your opportunity to train on the world’s most popular pistol platform with the people who know it best.
