In addition to the valuable tangible and intangible benefits of being a member, here are a few more reasons why joining a Girl & A Gun is one of the best decisions that you can make for yourself.
Supervision, Company, and Support
Joining A Girl & A Gun is becoming a part of an enthusiastic and supportive community of women. Not only will instructors mentor and guide you along your firearms training journey, others will be there alongside you to share in your experiences. From beginners to advanced shooters, everyone can participate, share, and learn together.
Accountability and Motivation
The AG & AG Shooting Journal includes tracking and accountability sheets for helping you set and achieve your shooting and personal goals. Whether you need help setting and sticking to a budget, or doing daily dry-fire practice, or encouragement on a fitness or strength-building plan, such as the AG & AG Pushup Challenge, your Journal tracks your progress and keeps you on target.
Develop Good Habits
Although there is no one-size-fits-all method to shooting fast and accurately, there are a number of proven fundamentals that will increase your chances for success. By learning these proper techniques early in your shooting journey, you will develop good habits that serve as a solid foundation for proficient marksmanship. You’ll also be surrounded by positive women, who value safety and the ability to protect themselves and their families, and encourage you to live your best life everyday.
Challenge Your Skills
AG & AG offers many events throughout the year to give you opportunities for growth. Attend National Conference and receive training instruction from some of the country’s best instructors. You can also compete in the Clays Championship and Multigun Challenge. There are also Girls Getaways so you can learn new shooting skills in a small-group environment. There is a lot of knowledge to gain.
Avoid the Same Old Range Time Routine
The AG & AG Quarterly Match gives you a new course of fire every quarter to test your skills against others throughout the country. You also have the live-fire drills in the Shooting Journal available to you, so that you can have meaningful practice sessions at the range. And, of course, shooting with other women is a great time! Attend a local Girls Night Out and/or the AG & AG national events, such as Conference or Fall Fest. Come out and have fun!
It’s More Than Shooting!
This is the organization’s motto and it is true — it is not just marksmanship that you can learn as a member of AG & AG. Training is available on situational awareness and mindset, gun maintenance, first aid, legal topics, and more. Many of these topics are address during Virtual Girls Nights Out or discussed in the AG & AG Book Club. In addition you’ll gain friendships and support, and truly make a difference in the lives of other women.
Improve Your Confidence
Getting that time behind the trigger will not only tighten your groupings on your target, but will embolden your assurance in yourself on and off the range. Everyday we witness the transformation of women who set out to learn how to shoot and in the process discover a confidence in themselves that improves all areas of their lives.
