What Is Your Ideal Gun Shop?

What Is Your Ideal Gun Shop?

We received an inquiry from Tim and Jeanette Blakeley, who are building a gun store with the goal of it being “the perfect gun shop for women.”

Tim is no stranger to life at the range. He is former law enforcement and served an 18-month deployment in Afghanistan. He is the author of “Shooting to Survive.” Now, he and Jeanette are building a new future together in Cameron, North Carolina. They personally constructed the exterior and interior walls of their 1500 sqft gun shop, and are currently waiting on a contractor and crane operator to set the trusses in the next few days. They are a licensed FFL and SOT, and have the Smokeless Range software to provide training for their customers. Although they are building only a gun shop for now, they have talked about the possibility of an indoor range attached to the gun shop at a later date.

The plans for their store include a minimum of 48-inch aisles to accommodate those shooters in wheelchairs. In his research Tim learned that women prefer wider aisles to cramped racks (referred to in the retail market as “butt brush”). This led Tim to question: what else do women want?

Tim and Jeanette would like your feedback. And we’re curious, too!
