The Upland Adventure offers the camaraderie that makes A Girl & A Gun events so special, spending time with women from across the country who share your sense of adventure. This is a co-ed experience, so guests are welcome. Come by yourself and make new friends, or bring along your spouse or favorite hunting partner. Either way, you will leave with stories, photos, and memories that last long after the season ends.

You’ll be hunting the fields owned and maintained by Upland Inn Hunts. Upland Inn prides itself in providing some of the best wild pheasant hunting in the world. And with highest limit in the nation at 4 roosters per day, they provide you 33% more harvested birds than other states, like South Dakota. They invest extensive resources in their 21 CRP fields to provide everything a pheasant needs to thrive. This starts with the backbone of a pheasants’ habitat needs in well maintained native grass. They use controlled burns to prevent the native grass from becoming too thick and rank, strip disking to open up the ground for broods to use as bugging areas, inter-seeding to provide more forb and legume growth (that studies show increases insect numbers by 300%), and food plots to provide an excellent food source during fall and winter.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event, ammo, and hunting license.

You will need to bring this license with you:

Adult Hunter’s Education Certificate (online course)
Non-Resident – 108 – Hunt License (state website)

In addition to your hunting license, you’ll need to bring eye protection (colored lenses preferred), weather-appropriate upland game hunting pants/chaps, jacket, bird vest, and blaze orange hat.

You’ll also need to bring ammunition (2 boxes of hunting load and 2 boxes of target load).

• 20ga 2¾ inch 1 oz. #6 or #5 shot
• 28ga 2¾ inch ¾ to 7/8 oz. #6 shot
• Clay target loads appropriate for your gun (8 or 7.5 shot)

We understand that life happens, and sometimes unexpected situations can prevent you from attending. As the event approaches, many costs are already committed to our vendors and service providers, so we are limited in our ability to offer refunds. A $650 administrative fee will be charged for any cancellation (because Upland Inn charges a nonrefundable deposit). Within 45 days of the event, registration fees and event-related purchases are non-refundable. To ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone, participants must demonstrate the necessary skills and maintain safe, respectful behavior throughout the event. If a participant is unable to meet these standards, they may be removed from the event without a refund.
