September 2023 shattered more records! Our National Conference sold out in 22 hours with 700 students (with 200+ on the Waiting List)! We also hosted 346 events and trained more than 1,800 women this month — yes, that’s up 6% over last year (watch us grow!). We were key participants in several industry events, and we #gaveback to one of our league charities. Here are our highlights for September.

700 Registrations in 22 Hours!
General registration for the 12th Annual A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) National Conference SHINE 2023 opened at midnight on September 1, and the event sold out with 700 tickets in less than 22 hours. Due to the demand AG & AG increased capacity by 27% and the event still sold out in record time. Within the first week, more than 200 ladies were registered on the Waiting List to be notified of available tickets. Learn more >

AG & AG Shines at the Gun Rights Policy Conference
AG & AG Executive Director Robyn Sandoval was a presenter at the Second Amendment Foundation’s 38th Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference. The event showcased the legislation, litigation, and organizations protecting the right to keep and bear arms. A Girl & A Gun was featured among programs, like Kids SAFE Foundation, Women for Gun Rights, Hold My Guns, and many state citizen action leagues.

AG & AG Leads at PrairieFire Grand Opening
Las Vegas NV Chapter Facilitator Alexandra Nikolov hosted a Breakfast & Bullets training event at the Grand opening of PrairieFire with over 1,000 attendees. The former Frontsite facility is now open as PrairieFire Nevada. Members of the AG & AG Las Vegas and Henderson chapters attended the celebration, along with many potential members.

AG & AG Networks at USCCA Expo
Saukville WI Chapter Facilitator Theresa Schneider and other Milwaukee-area AG & AG Chapter Facilitators and A-Teamers welcomed a lot of inquiries at the AG & AG booth at the USCCA Expo. Set up for three days, they met a lot of members, sponsors, friends, and potential members. The girls did a great job of representing A Girl & A Gun to all of the attendees.

AG & AG Donates to Childhood Cancer Foundation
A Girl & A Gun recognized September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. For the Childhood Cancer Awareness and the UnstoppableAF shirts, $5 from every sale was donated to the Cooper Trooper Foundation. This year AG & AG contributed $1,000 to the foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research and families who are in the fight.

- In Sept 2023, AG & AG hosted 346 chapter events with 1,814 attendees (+6% over last Sept)
- We hosted 2 virtual events with 280 attendees.
- 473 new membership packets were mailed from HQ in Sept.
- 2 new chapters were opened: Parkland MO and Lauderdale FL
- We grew to 11,195 subscribers on our smartphone app (+5.3% increase since last Sept).
Local Training and Media Highlights
Here are local news and media highlights for September 2023:
The Treasure Coast and West Palm Beach FL Chapters attended the Sabre Pepper Spray Training led by AG & AG member, Darlene.
The Lake County IL chapter had a fantastic Meet & Greet on Sept. 17 – Constitution Day with 45 women at Caliber Gun Range in Waukegan!
The Central NJ Chapter hosted a women-only Steel Knockdown event complete with a huge raffle- sports bag filled with shooting supplies!
The Sheboygan County WI Chapter hosted an AR Speed Dating night that gave ladies the opportunity to try several deferent calibers and models of ARs. It’s nice to try before you buy!
The Obetz, Licking County, and Delaware OH Chapters came together for a class on Violent Encounters and their Aftermath. This crew knows how to make a serious topic lighthearted and memorable!
The Flagler County FL Chapter practiced for the Quarterly Match and enjoyed time at their local Mexican restaurant for more fun around the table catching up with each other.
Greater Black Hills SC Chapter worked on trigger press drills and accuracy along with training 12 women in the blended NRA Basic Pistol course.
The Middle TN Chapter moved up a level with their Marksmanship Qualification Program! Pro Marksman: Tracy Lattanzio, Distinguished Expert: Avis Price, Carol McCallum, Jessica Lillard
The Salt Lake UT Chapter has been working on preparing for a mach match, working on drawing and shooting from a holster, moving with their firearm while demonstrating muzzle awareness, engaging on multiple targets, and was able to shoot a USPSA Qualifying Drill.
Brenda Ledbetter of the League City TX Chapter participated in her first ever clay shoot — and took home the Highest Overall Female award!
The Douglas County NV Chapter A-team worked on their strong-hand shooting skills. The topic for the Seminar evening was on Conceal Carry, which became a good discussion among the ladies.
The Memphis TN Chapter celebrated their 3rd Anniversary — and awarded Amy with the Heart of the Chapter award. Congratulations!
The Sierra Foothills CA Chapter helped each other put up targets to shoot the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program. Everyone earned their Pistol Pro Marksman rating. Marksman is next!
The League City TX Chapter partnered with their host range Texas Gun Club and had a booth at the Galveston Women’s Conference. They met several hundred women, and their chapter has already welcomed several of these ladies to our events.
The Treasure Coast and West Palm Beach FL Chapters welcomed about 20 ladies to work on the Ball & Dummy Drill.
The Central WI Chapter continued to work on improving their one-handed gun handling skills during Girls Night Out. All the ladies enjoyed the training and look forward to the next range get together!
The Northern CO Chapter really enjoyed the AG & AG 5x5x5 Playing Card drill. Everyone loved this drill and found it quite challenging and rewarding!
The Alvin TX Chapter attended the 2nd Annual Match for Brazoria County Officer Appreciation Day, which is hosted by AG & AG member Krenek along with her team at Orr Tactical.
The Douglas County NV Chapter welcomed new shooters to practice in a small-group setting to learn marksmanship fundamentals.
The Memphis TN Chapter celebrated their 3rd anniversary! The ladies had fun on the range with special anniversary targets then enjoyed dinner and fellowship.
The Kettle Moraine and Sheboygan County WI Chapters assisted with the 8th Annual Vet Fest at Daniel Boone Conservation League in raising $15,000 for 3 local veteran’s groups – Camp Hometown Heroes, Heroes Hunt for Veterans and Fisher House Wisconsin. #givingback
Members of the Treasure Coast FL Chapter attended a Dan Bongino book signing and invite ladies to come shoot with AG & AG. Several gentlemen approach them to get info for their wives, and we hope to see some of them on the range soon.
The Cedaredge CO Chapter tackled one-handed shooting drills using a stuffed toy to imitate carrying a child. It was a fun way to practice one-handed safety even with distractions.
The Grand Junction CO Chapter received some great tips on shooting with their dominant hand prior to participating in the Quarterly Match.
AG & AG National eChapter Facilitator Dawn Rose was featured in an article in The Washington Post titled, “In Texas, guns are everywhere, whether concealed or in the open.” Read more >
