September 2020 Recap

A Girl & A Gun made a difference in September 2020 in a number of ways. We gave back to law enforcement with an exceptional training event for officers and we were honored to be invited to several speaking engagements and events. Here are our highlights for September:

Female Officers Thrive at 4th Annual ‘Back the Women in Blue’

AG & AG gave back to 12 law enforcement officers who attended the 4th Annual ‘Back the Women in Blue’ Presented by SIG SAUER. Participants represented large municipalities, rural counties, and state agencies from 8 different states. All officers were nominated by someone in her community as being deserving of this training opportunity. With contributions from SIG SAUER, SureFire, and Action Targets, training including firearms skills in light and low-light, building entry tactics in light and low-light, vehicle CQB, and reppelling. The event took place Sept 9-11, 2020, and was hosted by the Round Rock TX Police Department at their state-of-the-art training village. Read more >

A Girl & A Gun Represented at Largest-Ever Gun Rights Policy Conference

A Girl & A Gun Executive Director Robyn Sandoval spoke at the 35th Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, which took place in a virtual format and reached an estimated 300,000 people. Sandoval was included in the list of professionals that the Second Amendment Foundation called the “Who’s Who” of gun rights leaders. She served on a panel addressing Women & Guns. Read more >

AG & AG Honored as Keynote Speaker at AMM-Con 2020

The A Girl & A Gun National Conference, Digital Elevate, was the first major event in the firearms industry to take place in a virtual format, so Robyn Sandoval was invited to be the keynote presenter at AMM-Con 2020. Her presentation, Hosting Virtual Events, educated firearms industry media professionals on how to organize, promote, and host online events. More than 237 attendees watched the presentation.

AG & AG Selected as GUNVOTE Helpers

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reached out to AG & AG to support the GUNVOTE campaign by discussing the importance of voting and researching local, state and presidential candidates – specifically candidates’ positions on gun rights. The GUNVOTE campaign is bipartisan by nature and only presents the facts about candidates’ positions on gun rights without lobbying specifically for one candidate or another. AG & AG has posted on social media and is hosting a Virtual Girls Night Out presentation on the topic.

AG & AG Invited Guests of Walther

In September, Robyn Sandoval was one of eight writers invited to train with the Walther Defense Division pro staff, including AG & AG Training Director Tatiana Whitlock. They were able to put new Walther products through their paces in nearly 30 hours of training, including low-light and no-light sessions — yes, even night vision in the rain. A Girl & A Gun is excited about the future!
