Local Training and Media Highlights

Here are local news and media highlights for November 2022:

The Lakeland FL Chapter celebrated their 1-year anniversary on November 5th with 78 ladies in attendance!

The Northern CO Chapter had a lot of fun Shooting Turkey targets! All the gals learned how to score targets. The top 3 received prizes. Plus they had 5 new members join for this fun GNO!

The Salt Lake UT Chapter reviewed and discussed reasonable force, deadly force, and the use-of-force continuum, as well as the reasonable person theory. They hosted a USCCA rep to discuss the importance of concealed carry insurance.

The Memphis TN Chapter ladies had fun finding out their “Turkey Names” for the Thanksgiving Chapter meeting.

The League City TX Chapter had a huge showing at Texas Gun Club’s Grand Opening and participated in all the various activities and welcomed & “shared our sisterhood” to the many attendees. One of our own members even won the grand prize, a beautiful Smith & Wesson M&P pistol.

The Broward County FL Chapter members had one last opportunity for some ghost busting and pumpkin smashing; this time they used a Tennis Ball Can Cannon on an AR-15 and milk jug pumpkins and ghosts!

The San Diego CA Chapter hosted their first AG & AG National Conference preparation zoom meeting. There are 27 members attending Conference, with about a dozen of them being first time attendees!

The Lake Martin AL Chapter had a small but mighty group after Thanksgiving for their Tryptophan Buster event to prepare for Black Friday shopping: Dot torture drills showed improvement for all, and Quarterly Match practice highlighted a need for more practice!

The Little Rock AR Chapter attended an Urban Concealed Carry class at S7 Tactical to practice drawing from concealment, finding the “threat” target, and avoiding the non-threats. Many of the members had never drawn from a holster, and one guest had never even held a firearm before her visit. Everyone left feeling more confident in their skills and firearms handling.

The Broward County FL Chapter had a booth at a local Fall Harvest Festival to raise money for their annual Wreaths Across America fundraiser. They passed out a ton of information about AG & AG and raised funds for more wreaths.

The Flagler County FL Chapter A-Team went out for some evening training with the Facilitator. They work so hard and don’t always have the opportunity to shoot during the events, so they schedule periodic training just for them.

The Henderson NV Chapter had a great post turkey day fun shoot. Everyone got the chance to ring some steel. Afterwards, they partook in a gun smorgasbord: all the ladies got the chance to try out each other’s guns. Everyone is now making a list for Santa.

The Licking County OH Chapter held a special members-only Legal Use of Force class and the ladies were fantastic participants. They brought joy to what can be a very complex conversation topic.

The Central WI Chapter got together to sharpen their skills by throwing axes, knives, and even shovels!

The Bastrop TX Chapter hosted a range day and invited all area chapters. All 3 shooting bays were taken up with different activities.

The Broward County FL Chapter celebrated a successful Turkey Hunt before Thanksgiving.

The DeLand-Daytona FL Chapter hosted two Stop the Bleed courses, due to the demand. Thanks to Ashley, the instructor from Halifax Medical in Daytona Beach. Each attendee received a free CAT tourniquet!

The Texoma TX Chapter powered through frigid rain for an Intermediate Handgun Class with Brad Oliver of Cinco Peso Training Group. They started by field stripping pistols, then moved into stationary and moving drills, working on holster draw, clearing malfunctions and shooting from various concealed positions. It was a fantastic training class that they plan to repeat – hopefully in warmer weather.

The Salt Lake UT Chapter had two different turkey shooting competitions: one for the best shooting score and the other for whose score added up to a random number that was previously chosen but not disclosed until the end of the contest!

The Sheboygan County WI Chapter learned how to make Christmas wreaths and swags at their local Anderson Tree Farm! Shotgun shells, brass, bells, bows, pinecones and ornaments were added to our homemade creations. Lots of sticky pine sap fingers and laughs.

The Licking County OH Chapter met for socializing and sharing about the year’s events during their holiday social and white elephant gift exchange. The ladies also got to vote on class options for 2023.

The Memphis TN Chapter participated in a zoom class “Reactionary Zones” with Shelley Hill. They learned about distances, reaction times and appropriate actions. It was an amazing class that got everyone to really think.

The Prescott AZ Chapter went “turkey hunting” in November! The paper turkeys didn’t stand a chance!

The Central UT Chapter Facilitator Coni Brooks earned the USCCA CCHDF Instructor certification. Congratulations, Coni!

The Henderson and Las Vegas NV Chapter Facilitators Alexandra & Eileen presented to the Creakers group, a shooting group for the “more seasoned.” They were happy to share about AG & AG to this mostly male crowd.
