A Girl & A Gun Cadre Grows with USCCA

“For the past several years, we have encouraged our Chapter Facilitators to earn their USCCA instructor credentials. We have many instructors in our organization who have seized the opportunity — and now we have 14 more,” said Robyn Sandoval, referencing 14 AG & AG instructors from 9 different states who recently traveled to West Bend, WI, to become certified to present the USCCA Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals coursework. Now the instructors may use the materials to educate the growing numbers of enthusiastic gun owners in their home communities. AG & AG has scheduled three additional USCCA instructor-level courses, as well as dozens of student-level courses, throughout 2022. Read More About the Partnership >

New! Sniper School on the 2022 Calendar

Due to the demand for training in precision rifle skills, AG & AG has scheduled Sniper School, which will take place in September 2022 at Cameo Training and Education Complex near Grand Junction, CO. The event comprises two sessions: Riflecraft, focusing on marksmanship skills, and Fieldcraft, focusing on movement and alternate shooting positions. Students can attend one or both sessions, if they meet the pre-requisites. Registration is open at https://www.agirlandagun.org/sniper/.

Keeping Families Safe: Suicide Prevention

In November, AG & AG teamed up with Sarah Albrecht from Hold My Guns to host a community forum on suicide prevention. Key discussions centered on recognizing baseline behaviors and encouraging the development of personal safety plans to reduce the statistics for suicide by firearm. More than 200 people watched the presentation; one instructor commented, “What an impact this could have! I never knew all this. Thanks for presenting and sharing this information.”

November Fun at the Range!

Many of our holiday gatherings kicked off in November. As ladies traveled to visit family, many AG & AG members took time to visit chapters in other cities! We had so much fun watching the interaction. One member said, “Everyone was welcoming, none of the awkward getting to know each other. I received the same encouragement and I felt as welcome as I do walking into my own chapter.” #sisterhood
