Friendly and Certified Firearms Training for Women Since 2011

March 2023 Recap

March was an incredibly busy month with three main focuses: training, advocacy, and welcoming new members. Attendance was up 16% over last March, membership grew 9%, and we trained thousands of women! We had a lot of activity on all fronts. Here are the highlights:

Shamrock Shenanigans

In March, we hosted 367 chapter events and many of them used our new Shamrock Targets from Axle Targets that feature B8 targets and endless drill ideas for novice and advanced shooters. Suggested drills accompanied the targets, which also included instructor points to provide teaching moments to students.

AG & AG Featured on CGTN

A Girl & A Gun garnered nationwide attention with an interview by Northern CO Chapter Facilitator Peggy Houchin, which highlighted the empowerment achieved by many older women who turn to gun ownership. Many elderly Americans who own guns say it is for self-defense, and our member Beverly Joberg did a great job talking about why she prefers a gun for protection. The video also featured footage of League City TX’s Cindy Scott teaching and putting some rounds down range. Watch the segment.

AG & AG Represented at TacCon

Several of our members were in attendance at the RangeMaster Tactical Conference in Dallas during March. It was very exciting to see more female attendees, as well as female instructors at this event. Out of the Top 8 female shooters in the TacCon match, 7 of them were AG & AG members! Congratulations to our Heather Reeves for taking first this year! She edged past our Cindy Bowser, who had been the reigning ladies champion for many years. We are very proud of all of them!

International Women’s Day Spotlighted Empowerment

AG & AG Executive Director Robyn Sandoval appeared on NBC news in a segment highlighting the rise of female gun ownership. The panel discussion addressed the empowerment that women enjoy when they train with their firearms and grow the confidence to be their self-protectors.

Quarterly Member Appreciation Drawing

The end of March marked the end of the 1st quarter, so we had our Quarterly Member Appreciation Giveaway drawing. Congratulations to Diane from Richmond VA and Wendy from Montrose CO, who both won new .38 Spl Undercover revolvers from our friends at Charter Arms! Debra in Laurel Highlands PA won a concealed carry purse from GTM Original, Pamela from Central CT won a set of StrikePRO Earbuds from AKT1 Sport, and Jennifer from Port Townsend WA received a set of AG & AG range gear. We love sharing the generosity of our sponsors with our wonderful members. #perks
