June 2021 Recap

June 2021 Recap

While summers are typically a slow time of year, we saw a 24% increase in league growth compared to last June! Our memberships are growing and our chapters are having a lot of summer fun at the range! Here are some of the highlights:

Certifying More Women as Range Safety Officers

The Henderson NV Chapter certified 8 more women as RSOs in June. The Range Safety Officer certification is a great stepping stone into leadership within the AG & AG chapter as well as the host range. By having a visible presence as professionals behind the firing line, the RSOs serve as a great representation of the women’s community. We are proud to have hundreds of certified RSOs in our organization.

Growing the Front Lines of School Safety

A Girl & A Gun was a official Partner of the 4th Annual National Train A Teacher Day on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Several AG & AG chapters offered free Refused to Be a Victim and Basic Handgun training for teachers, staff, and administrators. On June 20-23, 2021, AG & AG Executive Director Robyn Sandoval encouraged armed teachers through marksmanship and scenario drills with FASTER Saves Lives. These programs both grow our 2A community and keep our kids safer at school.

Breaking Clays with CZ-USA

The AG & AG Kansas City Chapter scheduled a visit at the CZ-USA Trailer during the Kansas Sporting Clays Championship. Chapter Facilitator Theresa Almeida shared that 25 ladies attended, and 75% had never handled or fired a shotgun before the event. 95% hit at least one clay out of 5 attempts and 25% of the new-to-shotgun ladies have said that they want to sign up for the August AG & AG Clays Extravaganza! 100% have expressed that they were introduced to a new skillset, had highly skilled instructors, and will be out shooting clays again.

Fighting for Our Rights and Promoting Training

A Girl & A Gun, which is headquartered in Austin, TX, was instrumental in the fight for Texas constitutional carry. Executive Director Robyn Sandoval was part of the group of citizens that kept pressure on the Lt. Governor to move the bill through Congress. AG & AG Founder Julianna Crowder had a conversation with the Dallas Morning News about the importance of firearms training for all gun owners.

Out and About

Here are some of the places you saw AG & AG mentioned in June 2021:

More than 40 members of the Flagler County FL Chapter gathered for a pistol cleaning clinic.

Central NJ Facilitator Ronnie Siegel provides the NJ ladies a lot of opportunities for competition and clinics! They just shot a Steel Challenge match together.

On June 26th members of the AG & AG Las Vegas Chapter volunteered at a Sporting Clay Shoot for Boy Scouts of America. It was an excellent day!

Several members of the Northern Colorado Chapter attended and volunteered at the NRA Women’s outdoor shooting event in Aurora CO. It was a fun, well organized event! One of our members won the grand prize of a Ruger 22!

Saving ammo and welcoming new shooters in a comfortable environment, Central UT Facilitator Coni Brooks hosted a clinic in the home of a member to do a presentation for her friends who were interested in shooting as well as learning proper safety and shooting techniques. It was so much fun!

The League City TX Chapter hosted a Cowboy Action event with different revolvers were available for all the ladies to try. Everyone loved dressing up and proudly wore their new cowgirl action name tags. Our host range staff and all their patrons saw how much fun our ladies were having wanted to join us!

AG & AG Founder Julianna Crowder was quoted in the Dallas Morning News about the importance of firearms training for all gun owners.
