Friendly and Certified Firearms Training for Women Since 2011

June 2020 Recap

We thought things would slow down in June, but we were busier than ever! HQ and our chapter Facilitators were fielding hundreds of queries from new gun owners and requests for private lessons. We love making a difference! Here are our highlights for June:

Back to the Range!

More of our host ranges opened during June — and despite social distancing they were as crowded as ever! 16% of our Girls Night Out attendees were new! A lot of participants have been eager for training. Many of our Facilitators are doing 3 or more private lessons or classes per day!

Conference: Training for Real Life

Throughout June, our National Conference participants continued to learn from 46 instructors through on-demand training sessions. Elevate 2020 Presented by SIG SAUER officially wrapped up at the end of the month, and the virtual training made a huge impact as many topics became real-life for AG & AG members who are concerned about social unrest in their home communities.

Journals Flying Off the Shelves!

With more new gun owners looking for training and existing members honing their skills while social distancing, our AG & AG Shooting Journals are in demand! There have been record sales on this resource and a new shipment is on its way to HQ. The Shooting Journal guides a shooter through a progressive series of dry-fire and live-fire drills over 12 months, with worksheets, activities, and logs to track and achieve her shooting and personal goals.

Instructor Training at SIG Academy

Despite COVID restrictions and airline delays, 9 AG & AG leaders traveled to Exeter, NH, to participate in a 3-day instructor development course at SIG SAUER Academy. SIG instructors reviewed discovery learning principles, handgun fundamentals, and additional skillsets. AG & AG instructors learned about the features of SIG pistols — and nearly all of them went home with a new one!

In the News

Robyn Sandoval was invited to be a speaker at the 35th Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference in September 2020.
