January 2020 Recap

January 2020 Recap

January was a great month for A Girl & A Gun! We started the new decade with a lot of activities and excitement! Here are some of the highlights:

SHOT Show Success

We had such a great time visiting with our friends and colleagues at SHOT Show! We were grateful to have all of our sponsors want to continue their support for 2020, and we were excited to form some new partnerships!

First-Ever Women’s Clays Championship

We announced that we are hosting the first-ever Women’s Clays Championship at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, KS, on August 14-15, 2020. AG & AG, which has hosted dozens of large-scale women’s events specializing in defensive training and pistol and multigun competition, is honored to host this historic clay target shoot. For the past two years, we have been asked to do for shotgun sports what we have done for action shooting sports. We are excited about growing the shotgun community and bringing women together from across the country for a fun event.

National 2020 Schedule Announced

In addition to the Women’s Clays Championship, we are hosting two other large-scale events again in 2020.

AG & AG will be hosting its 8th Annual National Conference Presented by SIG SAUER at Cameo Shooting Center near Grand Junction, CO. This event will again welcome nearly 600 people on site for a week of training sessions. Topics include shooting fundamentals, advanced marksmanship, concealed carry, vehicle defense, competition, archery, precision rifle, sporting clays, knife defense, gun maintenance, legal topics, and more.

The 2020 Fall Festival will feature the Multigun Challenge, the only all-ladies 3-gun match in the nation. It will also comprise 3-Gun University, 2.5 days of training clinics, to welcome new participants and encourage more women to join us for their first major match. We will also host the 1-day Multisport Challenge, which introduces competitors to a variety of shooting sports, including action pistol, sporting clays, precision rifle, and cowboy action.

Shooting Journal Supplement Released

The AG & AG Shooting Journal offers a revolutionary program to help the female marksman organize her plans, goals, time, and training. It provides a progressive training program to maximize home dry-fire practice and range time. The brand-new 2020 Supplement expands the discussion on AG & AG’s Color Track System, which categorizes a shooter’s skills and goals based on abilities and experience, and provides Confirmation Drills for shooters to give clear indicators of their marksmanship and proficiencies.

Julianna Crowder and Robyn Sandoval starred in three episodes of Gun Dog TV that are airing on the Outdoor Channel this month.
