October 10th was the second annual Divas on the Prowl event. Each year, the Houston Chapter combines forces with one of their host ranges, The Arms Room, to transform the range and retail store into a diva’s paradise. Twenty five vendors set up tables to showcase their products and services aimed at women. The line started forming around 6:00 for a 6:30 start time. Just fifteen minutes after opening, over 150 ladies had come through the door. Early estimations indicate that about 300 women came to shop, shoot and socialize in a three hour period.
The Houston Chapter set up a table to provide information to the ladies about the A Girl and A Gun organization. The group passed out flyers, business cards and answered questions. We gave away a door prize to one lucky winner and Chandra Edwards was the lucky gal who gets a free one year membership to the group. “This year was amazing,” said Tracy Hughes, the Houston Chapter facilitator. “We had a line at our table for about the first hour with ladies interested in becoming part of what we do.”
The chapter added several new members on the spot and many more indicated that they would be utilizing the quick online feature at the A Girl and A Gun website to become members. The night was a huge success!
