Candy has been ecstatically married to her bestest bud, Jim, for 31 years and they have twelve Pettipeeps, all of whom are skilled shooters. Never having been exposed to firearms previously, Candy began her shooting journey a little over five years ago when she received her CHL and realized, with a ridiculously high amount of clarity and discomfort, that a day’s training and a plastic card from the Sheriff’s Office doth not a skilled and/or competent shooter make.

With this in mind, she has avidly pursued firearms and self-defense trainings for herself, and her family. Candy is an NRA Training Counselor and an NRA, USCCA, SPB, and Rangemaster Certified Instructor in multiple disciplines and she is passionate about sharing her skills, trainings, and mindset with her family, her students, and her friends. She uses her warmth, passion, and sense of humor to instruct and encourage people, especially ladies, who desire to own the responsibility of their personal safety and the safety of their loved ones by being their own first responder!!
