Greetings from the Southern New Hampshire Chapter! You’ve found your place! Come Join Us! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to engage in their own experience, whether you’ve never touched a firearm, are a beginner, have basic knowledge, or are a seasoned professional, there are many opportunities for you to grow and learn with us. A Girl and A Gun is a sisterhood of encouraging and supportive women!
Your Chapter Facilitator is Charity Willis. She’s enthusiastic about teaching and inspiring women to have confidence in their capabilities. Her personal story began when her son was learning to shoot through the Scouts. She knew if he was going to be around firearms, then she needed to educate herself. One class led to the next, and she went on to achieve her first instructor certifications with the NRA for Basic Pistol and Home Firearm Safety. While her priority remained with her family and raising three young children, she was always there when a girlfriend called for instruction or wanted company at the range.
As Charity’s children grew older and independent, she focused on education by progressing through various levels of personal safety and firearm seminars, as well as training around the New England area. She became a USCCA Instructor and Range Safety Officer. She enjoys helping women understand and define the role a firearm will have in their lives and how to integrate it within their lifestyles. She says, “Women have many roles in society and quite often wear many of these hats on a daily basis, this is why gun ownership should feel comfortable and safe, from education to the practicability of everyday carry.”
When Charity found A Girl and A Gun, she knew it was the perfect fit, like she had found Cinderella’s missing shoe! It was a sisterhood created by women for women. It provided the opportunity of building relationships and connections within the immediate community and nation-wide through ongoing education, social activities (on and off the range), shooting competitions (for all levels – intro to advanced) as well as regional and national events (virtual and in person). She loved the aspect that AGAG was also involved with volunteering and raising awareness for many causes that affect the Sisterhood. There was literally something for Everyone! She believes the best part is “It’s More Than Shooting” and she’s excited to meet you and introduce you to her A TEAM, women from all backgrounds with a passion to empower one another!
One of Charity’s favorite mantras is “Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching.” Join us on the journey and make new friendships. Charity is always there to assist, so please reach out if you have any questions.
