I was born and raised in Orange County CA so as you can imagine, like most, we were not a big firearms family. Fast forward a couple decades and I started seeing the need to get to know a bit about self defense. I took a CCW class in Dallas TX in 1998. This was my introduction to firearms. As I moved around the country while my husband was on military duty I kept my CCW but really didn’t do much practicing just the occasional day or night at the range . In 2020 we decided to head out to Front Sight in NV for an intensive 5 day training. Wow was that eye opening and I was hooked! It took 3 visits of those 5 day trainings to become a Graduate. Having something big to work towards was key for me. It really builds your confidence to see your hard work and time pay off. I am now an NRA Instructor and Range Safety Officer. My goal is to always be building my skills and help other ladies do the same. The amazing part is we get to have fun doing it!
