Lanie’s love of firearms started at a young age when her grandfather taught her to shoot. She then began shooting skeet with her cousins behind her dad’s tool shed. In 2003, she became very involved with the NWTF Pigeon Mountain Chapter Women in the Outdoors until the local chapter dissolved. In 2014, Lanie decided to take her own personal safety into her own hands and got her concealed carry license. But just getting her license wasn’t enough, she started drowning herself in firearms and personal defense education. In 2019, she found A Girl & A Gun and joined the Chattanooga Chapter. At the beginning of 2020, with a friend, she decided to start a closer chapter in the Northwest Georgia Area. Lanie’s passion is to empower women to become self-reliant by becoming more comfortable and confident with firearms and to introduce women to the excitement of shooting sports.
Lanie is a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and NRA Certified Range Safety Office and is currently working to become an A Girl & A Gun Certified Instructor.
