I am, first and foremost, a wife to a wonderful husband (who cheerfully supports my obsession with shooting) and a mom to five kids. I worked as a Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist in the schools for 33 years. I was a huge anti-gunner until my husband came to me and told me he was getting a gun. After several “discussions”, I decided that I’d better figure out how to be safe with a gun in the house. The rest is history… several lessons later, I found a new passion in life. Currently, I run the San Diego Chapter of A Girl & A Gun and I instruct at my local range. I spend my free time competing, travelling and learning from top-notch instructors all over the country.
Being part of A Girl & A Gun has been an amazing experience; the sisterhood and the San Diego Chapter has become a big part of our San Diego shooting community. AGAG offers many experiences in shooting – pistol, rifle, shotgun, and of course, our annual AGAG Conference. Heligunning at the 2017 A Girl & A Gun Conference was definitely a lifetime highlight! I hope to bring other women to the AGAG community so they can have the same experiences.
Our chapter motto is “A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships”. AGAG~San Diego is a supportive, non-judgmental place to learn. The women help each other grow and cheer each other’s successes along our firearms journey. The camaraderie of a shooting sisterhood is instrumental in helping to build confidence and skills.
As an A Girl & A Gun facilitator, it gives me the opportunity to educate women about firearm safety and home protection. I love working with new shooters and helping them overcome their fears and preconceptions of what “shooting” is all about.
Come join us- I promise you will have a blast!
