Friendly and Certified Firearms Training for Women Since 2011

August 2023 Recap

August was on fire! The scorching temps didn’t keep our girls from training or competing between their family vacations and back-to-school activities: We trained 1,900+ women in the month of August! We hosted 350 events and membership was up 16% compared to last year! Our members celebrated National Shooting Sports Month with enthusiasm! Here are some of our highlights:

Smiles Abound at 10th AG & AG GLOCK Getaway

In August, we brought our girls to GLOCK Professional in Smyrna GA for AG & AG’s 10th GLOCK Getaway event. Fifteen women from ten different states learned from instructor Scotty Banks during a one-day armorers class followed by two days of live-fire on the range. “Training with my shooting sisters at GLOCK wasn’t just about learning the mechanics of our guns and hitting the target under expert guidance,” says Billie Hillier from Las Vegas. “It was about empowerment, skill-building, and forming bonds that make us stronger as individuals and as a collective community. The GLOCK staff went above and beyond to create an environment that was not only educational but also incredibly supportive.” The next GLOCK Getaways will take place in February and August 2024. AG & AG USCCA Getaway Certifies More Instructors

Another getaway in August focused on Instructor Development for our chapter leaders. Sixteen women from ten different states traveled with AG & AG to USCCA HQ in West Bend, WI, to become certified in the Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals curriculum. This group had a strong showing in shooting skills (three perfect qual scores!), as well as communication and presentation skills. We are proud of these women for bringing more professional training courses to their AG & AG chapters as well as their communities as a whole.

New Shooting Jersey Wows on the Range

This month we were excited to roll out a new American Pride Shooting Jersey featuring the AG & AG Shield Logo with an embedded flag, as well as a subtle eagle on the front. This Ladies Shooting Jersey by Maxt is a professional ¼ zip shooting jersey with a polo style collar and dye sublimated artwork that will resist fading. 100% polyester body panels and sleeves do not shrink, and wick sweat and heat away from the athlete. Customizable to include your name and your sponsor logos (if approved). They have been hugely popular! Order Yours >

AG & AG Celebrates National Shooting Sports Month

A Girl & A Gun chapters throughout the country hosted events to celebrate National Shooting Sports Month throughout the month of August. An initiative of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), National Shooting Sports Month is a time to celebrate recreational shooting sports and encourage others to join us at the shooting range!
