April 2021 was another whirlwind for AG & AG! We welcomed new members, opened new chapters, connected with new host ranges, and of course, hosted our biggest National Conference to date. Here are some of the highlights:

153 Competitors in 1st Quarter Postal Match
The 2021 1st Quarter Match results were posted in April, which included a new record: 153 total competitors participated in the match! Facilitated during a regularly scheduled event, such as a Girl’s Night Out, the Quarterly Match allows women to experience a competitive atmosphere: understanding the course of fire, match commands, operation of the shot timer, and scoring. The match allows new shooters to overcome mental barriers to participating in competitive shooting and gives experienced shooters the ability to test their skills in a casual, familiar environment. Winners of the match receive cash prizes based on the number of participants, and of course, bragging rights among the chapters. Read More >

Author Liz Lazarus Honors AG & AG with Protagonist
In April 2021, Liz Lazarus debuted her third novel, Shades of Silence. The book’s lead character “Julianna Sandoval” is a combination of AG & AG Founder Julianna Crowder and Executive Director Robyn Sandoval. Liz describes the character as “smart, resourceful, vulnerable and pretty both on the inside & outside.”

San Diego Chapter Hosts Range Day
In April AG & AG San Diego Chapter Facilitator Judi Wells hosted a range day for all chapter members. Judi reported, “We had two trap houses running, a steel competition with three stages, and rifle instruction with ARs. The girls changed venues every 75 minutes and were divided up by skill level. We had our own RSOs and help from our host range Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club. We had over 65 participants and the day was amazing.” She was so proud when she heard one of the board members at their private host range say it was one of the best events he had seen in ten years! That is what A Girl & A Gun is all about!
