AUSTIN TX (AGirlandAGun.org) — A Girl & A Gun is proud to announce its new Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification. This credential is the seventh course offered by A Girl & A Gun as part of its mission to provide professional firearms training excellence and consistency across the national league.
“The AG & AG leadership understands what women need to have positive experiences at the range,” says AG & AG Executive Director Robyn Sandoval. “For this certification, we began with industry standards on safe range operations, and we elevated the RSO role to include important interpersonal skillsets for an optimal learning experience. The essence of the A Girl & A Gun culture is that our programs are tough, but our community is kind. This program trains our RSOs to be the RSOs we wish we always had.”
Candidates for the AG & AG RSO Certification must have already completed a USCCA or NRA RSO Course as a baseline knowledge of how to organize, conduct, and supervise safe shooting activities and range operations during live-fire events. Members of the AG & AG community can attend USCCA’s Range Safety Officer Course for only $67 through AG & AG’s Official Partnership with USCCA.
The AG & AG RSO Certification course provides next-level training on the specific role of a Range Safety Officer at AG & AG events, how to fine-tune observation skills on the firing line and in the classroom, effective communication techniques in accordance with AG & AG professional guidelines, appropriate escalation of RSO intervention, and specific policies that will ensure the adherence of firearm safety rules, range safety rules, and AG & AG code of conduct at all AG & AG events.
The program is a self-paced, e-learning course that is facilitated by Director of Training Tatiana Whitlock. Upon successful completion of the course and final exam, participants will be issued a Range Safety Officer Certification certificate.
