AUSTIN, TX — A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League proudly announces the winners of the 4th Quarter 2016 League Match. This quarter’s course of fire included 24 rounds total at an AG & AG Match Target #2 at 21 feet (7 yards). This was a Limited Vickers match with no more than 8 rounds per string. Shooters began at a low ready with finger outside of the trigger guard using centerfire pistols with no scopes or laser sights. Shots were fired in this order:
- String 1 – Load 8 rounds. Shoot 2 shots at the large green bordered square. Shoot 1 shot at the large blue circle. Put 1 shot in each of the 5 blue small circles (dueling plates) in any order.
- String 2 – Load 8 rounds. Shoot 2 shots at the large blue bordered square. Shoot 1 shot at the large green circle. Put 1 shot in each of the 5 green small circles (dueling plates) in any order.
- String 3 – Load 8 rounds. In any order, shoot each of the four smaller squares within the upper green shaded square and then, in any order, shoot each of the four smaller squares within the upper blue shaded square.
Cheryl Fordyce of the Tallahassee, FL, reclaimed her thrown with a first-place score of 24.71. Lisa Tripp of Troy, OH, came in second with a score of 28.62. LuAnn Shank of the Dallas, TX, chapter placed third with a score of 35.48. The Youth Member winner was Becca Martin of Troy, OH, with a score of 74.47 and Facilitator Katrina Reed of Tallahassee, FL, won her division with a score of 47.40. Leslie Steffen-Haglund of Osseo, MN, is the winner of the Gift Certificate which is awarded on a random draw of participants.

About the Quarterly Match
The Quarterly Match is a nationwide competition among members of A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League. Facilitated during a regularly scheduled event, such as a Girl’s Night Out, shooters are able to experience a competitive atmosphere: understanding the course of fire, match commands, operation of the shot timer, and scoring. The match allows new shooters to overcome mental barriers to participating in competitive shooting and gives experienced shooters the ability to test their skills in a casual, familiar environment.
